  My partner and I love this hotel for lunches when we visit Saffron-Walden. The food is always freshly prepared and very tasty, and the menu is updated regularly. The Italian manager is on top of maintaining good service and a really nice bloke. Highly recommended.

  Okay! Food was slightly better than average, service was good though it was early evening. Lovely old building with bags of charm. Issues with the menu, firstly there was a limited choice of dishes and we struggled to find something we really wanted and secondly it's the menu itself, we all found it very hard to read(as did the table next to us!) Small lightly printed text and poor lighting meant we struggled.... yes I am entering middle age but still.... if your over forty five then suggest a torch and reading glasses!
